Services

Canadian Mental Health Association for the Kootenays Brach has a broad mandate and diverse funding base, resulting in service delivery that extends throughout the Kootenay region.  The Association has historically provided a range of services to varying populations considered to be at risk.  Service delivery is provided in 8 major areas: Women, Youth, Child-Care, Housing, Mental Health Promotion Programs, Employment, Volunteer Programs, and Crisis Intervention.

The Kootenays Branch is dedicated to the provision of high quality, professional services to individuals and families. The objectives of our programs are to support individuals and families to function in healthy and productive ways in their personal life and in their community.  This is achieved through access to enhanced mental health, wellness, emotional stability, social and life skill development, and the ability to make healthy behaviour choices. The Association believes that each individual has the right to maximize his / her potential and, therefore, endorses service delivery initiatives that support the empowerment and self-determination of persons served.  We believe this can be achieved through the provision of housing, support, employment, and crisis intervention services that model best practices and that transfer skills to the individuals and families served.
